Obstetrics-Gynecology Asheville
From the beginning of medical school, I knew I wanted to perform procedures, including surgery. While not every patient will be a candidate for surgery - and not every condition warrants it - I enjoy being able to offer my patients procedural and surgical options. My interest in pelvic anatomy, urology and women's healthcare naturally led me to the subspecialty of urogynecology. With fellowship training, I am able to focus my interests and skills specifically toward the unique conditions pertaining to urogynecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery. It is an honor for a patient to choose me as her provider, and I will always do my best to help every patient accomplish her health goals. I listen to their priorities, remembering that any healthcare plan we develop together not only involves the patient and me, but potentially a partner, other family members and other healthcare providers. I am board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, along with subspecialty board certification in urogynecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery. I won the residency teaching award from Magee-Womens Hospital, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, for four consecutive years and was awarded the Clinical Community Faculty Teaching Award with MAHEC, here in Asheville. My husband, Jeff, and I have been married for over 25 years, and we have twin sons who are now in college. We have lived in Asheville since 2005, and love calling this area home. He and I are both native North Carolinians who both grew up in the Triangle - specifically, Raleigh and Chapel Hill. My hobbies include cooking, running, yoga and reading.
